Subject:Re: powered speakers
I had a chance to use my new MS KT-80 this morning (on
live T.V. no less) with a Stones tribute band (2
guitars) and I have to say that I am a happy camper so
far.
This little box is loud for its' size ( I had the
volume on the HI FI channel only set at "3" and had no
trouble hearing myself above the guitars. The bass
response was fine with me, but I mostly am playing
piano patches through it.
The "tube" channel is nice to have to take that
digital edge off the organ and EP patches. Also works
nice on brass section patches - it seems to round out
the sound and makes them sound more
natural to me.
All in all, for the size/weight and price I think it's
a good little amp for small gigs/on stage self
monitoring but probably wouldn't cut if your not
running your sound through a P.A.
I might even get another one and go stereo. I don't
know much about the Rolands but I'd check one of these
out IMHO.
