Subject:Re: Help with control levels
Regarding the manufacturers' customer service interest in your plight,
call Steve at Speakeasy immediately on Monday morning. You will not
get nearly the satisfaction and attention to detail from Roland or
it's reps. In my estimation, your settings of the Speakeasy are
critical. The introduction of desirable or undesirable distortion in
the signal path will determine your success at the end of the signal
chain where you hear the results of your tweaking. Generally the tube
distortion of the Speakeasy is desirable, the distortion of the solid
state components in the Roland products is undesirable. Keeping all
this in balance is important. The Speakeasy is where the tone control
and tone flavor is achieved. The KC amp is where you get your room
volume adjustment once the tone distortion contributions of the
Speakeasy are set. Steve always says to deliver the strongest signal
to the input of the Speakeasy. Get his advice of the rest of the
settings.
