Subject:OT: Invisible Stand Clone

Hi all!

I've uploaded some pictures of my newly finished Invisible stand clone
under the Photo section.
It's in the "/Stands/Invisible Stand Clone/" folder.

I made it in my garage using only standard tools often to be found in a
garage.

Key features:
* No turnbuckle to break. I'm using a threaded rod as a cross bar and
uses wingnuts to add the tension in the wires.
* Fixed customized standing height of 900 mm for the first and 1000mm
for the second tier.
* Heavy metal! It weights 7 kg, tension rod and wingnuts included.
* Total working time, approx 20 h, 5 nights, 4 h each.
* Total material cost, approx $60

The stand feels really sturdy and reliable but I haven't gigged with it
yet...
I think I might have built it a bit too strong, hence adding weight to
the stand.

Thanks to all who supported me in the work with measurements and info
about the original stand!

I might put together a building description with mechanical drawings to
download in the future.

Feel free to comment!

Regards, Magnus

PS. Sorry to all NordElectro list members, I didn't mean to cross-post
this info. I forgot that it was on the CWSG list that the idea initially
came from. DS.
