Damon,

You're not foiled. The Motif should be able to do what you want to do
quite nicely. It has two foot controller jacks, so you can plug a
controller pedal into one of them, assign that controller to generate
CC80 messages, and you're good to go.

I don't know if the Motif allows you to assign MIDI controllers by
patch or if that's a global setting.
