Subject:VK-8M Question

I got a new VK-8M yesterday, and hooked it to an Alesis QS7.1 I had
hanging around. The QS has two pedal jacks beside the hold pedal
that can be programmed to send MIDI messages. I set up one of them
to send CC80 to the VK-8M (Leslie speed toggle), and it seems to be
working (the Leslie will speed up), but only while I hold the pedal
down. As soon as I release it, the speed returns to slow. Do any of
you VK-8M owners have any experience with this? Has anybody gotten
this to work so that tapping the pedal toggles the Leslie speed
instead of changing it only while the pedal is held down?
