Steve is a really great singer. One of my favorites. Such a unique
voice.
I can relate to cover band burnout, though. I still do a little, but
playing B3 in a jazz quartet is much more satisfying to me
I also play drums in a progressive power trio. Other than that, I take
or leave the rest of the stuff and work it in as my schedule allows
because it is isn't playing prog rock covers:-)
I would rather make $50 playing a gig and enjoy it than $200 playing
Buffet and "Brown Eyed Girl"
I was cursed with enjoying genres that generally make little money, but
you know....I really don't care:-)
And soundmen as a rule seem to bury boards. I do not want to preach to
the choir, but if your boards are reverb and delay heavy, wipe that
stuff off the patches and then you'll cut better in the mix.
