Just be wary that your sound may end part way out in the crowd. Disclaimer: this is not based on an actual experience other than related last paragraph be below!

If you get real specific to one precise stereo spot- that is where the MS KP100s and 200s shine. Your ears should be between the stereo speakers, in front or behind, not to the side. Actually a good monitor if not to your side.

I went the other way to start with- having powered keyboard amps to fill the room. I actually do have a KP100s centered between a Kc500 and an FBT Maxx 4a. Ridiculously good.

A jazz artist That used to work near here had a single large speaker and amp. He liked it when the house put in a pair of really small wall mounts instead, but I felt it was poorer due to the smaller speakers Even though I would say some 8', 10', 12" plus treble do the job and 15"s might not be better)!
