Subject:Question: Midi velocity capabilities of XK-3
I searched the archives for some discussion of this but found none.
Like the B-3 clone lemming that I am (and I'm ok with that), I'm
considering getting a XK-3. Hearing it is all I needed to put me int
this state of consideration. If I did get one, I'd want to use it
for some very simple midi applications, mainly triggering some piano
and electric piano sounds. For situations where I have a serious
need for non-organ sounds, I'd use another approach. But sometimes I
just need a little piano or clav here and there and in those
situations I'd like to use just the XK-3 and a module.
The manual says there are 4 different midi velocity curves. I was
playing around with the floor model, trying to engage these different
curves while midi'd to an Electro, but not having much luck. I trust
that it works, but it may require spending quality time with the
manual.
So I thought I'd ask the group if anyone has experience with this.
Has your experience been satisfactory? Do these velocity curves
provide a decent spread of options?
Thanks,
Adan
Oh, and I'm still going to call it Frisco, just to shake up the
dogmatists. Because that's what we do here in The City.
