Subject:Re: Roland A70 & VE-RD1 vs JV-1 expansion
I have an A70, and I've had both expansion boards. I started with a JV-1,
and upgraded to the VE-RD1 because it was supposed to be the superior
expansion board. To be honest, I don't think there's much difference. One
of the disappointments for me was that the VE-RD1 has 128 programs, but the
A70 can only access 64 of them.
The VE-RD1 was a little more expensive (I got mine from ZZounds, I think--it
was about $80), and I think I paid about $40 for the JV-1 on Ebay. Sold it
for about the same amount. This was all about 2 to 2-1/2 years ago.

Subject: Roland A70 & VE-RD1 vs JV-1 expansion
I just bought an A70 based on the keyboard groups' opinions. I picked
this A70 because it was advertised as having the VE-RD1 expansion
board. I get it out of the box and it's okay from what I can tell, in
fine overall shape, so I power it up and it says, "Roland A-70 with
JV-1." I think I got ripped off vs a minor error, but would like some
feedback from an A70/A90 owner before I get steamed up about the
difference in boards. TIA ~ Walter
