I believe the reason the (Korg)CX-3 can have a choice of shallow or
deep trigger is that it has 2 sets of contacts built into the keybed.
I'm basically a piano and synth person, and it took a while to get
used to the shallow trigger, but now I love it. I never use the
optional deep trigger, and even midi my Ion up to it to have
blazingly fast synth action. I wish Korg made a 5-octave midi
controller with the same action as CX-
3.
