Subject:New Keyboard Issue...Clone Shootout
I got my new issue of Keyboard this afternoon and they did a clone shootout. The Cliff Notes version: Nord Electro got the MVP award for bang for the buck; XK3 got most realistic; CX3/Bx3 rated "still strong contenders", Voce V5+ rated "easiest way to get B3 into your rig". Speakeasy got a nice review as well, noting what we've all noticed: it vastly improves the sound of your clone.
COOL STUFF!

One of these days I'll sign up for XM. I play with a band, the
touring members of which have XM in the band van and love it. Though
the band is primarily country-rock the guys listen to a lot of old
jazz, jump blues, etc. Right around the time the station opened, a
couple of us went into the studio to record some examples of their
little 7-note station ID (E, D, A, G#, E, D, B). I played banjo and
my bandmate played pedal steel and Dobro. I hear the pedal steel
version everytime I listen to XM, but I rarely hear the banjo - which
is probably an apt comment on my banjo playing. ;) We once went in
and recorded a live-in-studio show which I understand they play from
time to time on the "Cross Country" (aka X-Country) show.
