Subject:Speakeasy on mixer insert


I've got a CX-3 plugged into a Yamaha 01V96 mixer. The Speakeasy Studio Platinum is
patched into the insert on the mixer channel using the unbalanced connections . I'm
running the CX-3's master level at maximum. I'm getting distortion (not the good kind)
and the mixer channel isn't peaking. Pulling th CX-3's master level way back (to about 9:
00) helps a lot, but then I don't hear a nice warm tube sound. Any suggestions on setting
the channel volume and output gains on the preamp to maximize warmth without the bad
kind of distortion?
