I'm not sure I understand what you're saying or asking.

Pretty much across the circuit we play (Denver-Indiana, Michigan-Arkansas), all the clubs are pretty much 2am, with some 3am exceptions. Generally the start times are around 10 or 11p. Joes I believe is a 3am bar, but they kill the live music at 2am and move everyone up to the front bar (it's a huge joint). Generally they have a warm up act that goes on around 9:30ish...so when I say 10:30, we'll be on sometime between then and 11, and we'll play until 1:30/2am (depending on whether we take a break or not; we prefer NOT to).

As for the demographic, 21-35. I think if more middle aged folks went out to see live music, earlier hours (if that's what you're hinting at) would probably materialize, but the fact is, most don't. Those that do aren't hanging at rock clubs in Chicago, they're either frequenting blues or jazz clubs (same hours btw), or singles bars.

If my activities in New Orleans and the Rock Boat were any indication (I don't normally drink, but Island Tony -my alter ego- has paid a visit to us in the past 2 weeks!) I'm more of a midnite-8am guy myself!
