Subject:Good, but cheap, tube stereo preamp?

Hello group:

Got my new BX-3 a few weeks ago. Right off the bat I found out it
sounded way better through my all tube stereo system as opposed to my
solid state bass guitar amp.

Which brings me to my question. I know that the Speakeasy is held in
high regard, however I've blown most of my finances on the BX-3. Plus
I live in Canada so I have to add on the exchange rate which pushes the
Speakeasy up there in price even higher.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a relatively good, but less
expensive alternative for a stereo tube preamp. I've heard mention of
the Presonus Blue Tube as being good bang for the bucks. Any other
comments out there to help steer me in the right direction? Thanks in
advance.
