I personally do not have any trouble with it distorting too much or too
little. If you are careful with the gain that you put into the unit you
will not have any trouble.
That being said though, if you can afford the extra $100 for the "full
version" you would not be wasting your money. The ability to have volume
and EQ would be nice, as you would have even more potential to dial in the
exact sound you are looking for.

I am mainly concerned with the fact that there are no tone or volume
controls on the
Shotglass preamp - - I don't really want any overdrive, I just want to
"warm up" or "fatten"
the sound. The Micro BII's basic tonewheel sound is pretty good, but a tad
thin.
With no control over tone or volume on the preamp, do you find that it
distorts too much?
Not enough? Any other details are helpful.
Thanks again,
Marc
