Yes, the 2101 or the 21System (top and bottom) are the new Leslie speaker rig. The leslie's you've seen with guitar amps are custom rigs, not standard. The leslie preamp, or Speakeasy or other brands, not only bump your signal up, but also transform your 1/4 connection to 6 or 11pin connections, as well as offer some tonal shaping.

tube preamp (behringer mic100) knocking around, can I use that? Is

it serve some other purpose such as providing those mysterious 11 pin
connectors so often mentioned here.
Finally, the 2101 system looks great but that is the brand new
speaker right? I was thinking more along the lines of picking up one
of the numerous used & beaten up leslies that appear regularly on the
used market.
