Reset it before you play it in case some A-hole (or competitor)
screwed it up for the fun of it. They may have adjusted the
tonewheel parameters, but that would have taken some time. It may be
more likely that they adjusted the tube overdrive so that high
frequencies distorted and low frequencies did not. Or set it to
single circuit mode which takes out a lot of the mid & lower
frequencies. It could be something as simple as mis-adjusting the
expression limit low and high frequencies (similar to the loudness
control on a home stereo system). It could be many things, safest to
just reset it. I doubt that everyone that owns one is wrong.

Power off.
Press and hold the Rec/Jump button and then Power on.
Keep holding the Rec/Jump button until "Loading Default..." appears.
When it is finished, Play Mode should appear in the display.
