Subject:Still got t he XK3 MIDI Blues

This gets more and more wierd.
I have checked all of the MIDI parameters on the XK3.
Settings are as follows:

MIDI cable is plugged into MIDI2 input (Lower)
TEMPLATE Seq Record
Master MIDI In set to LOWER/UPPER
local on, NRPN OF, PROG OF, REGI OF, WHEL OF, RECV DUMP OF
CH UPPER 1, LOWER 2, PEDAL 3

Lower manual has only MIDI out and CH is set to 2.
Expression pedal is an EXP 100F

But, the problem persists. In fact i can cause the problem to occur
sometimes by just holding one single note on the lower manual and
moving the expression pedal back and forth and voila, suddenly no
sound from the note until
i release and depress the key again. This is very intermittent. I can
hold the note down and rock the expression backwards and forwards
for maybe a minute or two and the note continues to sound, then all
of a sudden, it stops. This only happens when the note held is on
the lower manual. It never seems to happen when the note held is on
the upper manual (the XK3 itself). However, if i happen to be playing
both hands, left hand on lower and right hand on upper, sometimes the
lower manual notes cut, sometimes the upper and sometimes both.

This is really frustrating me now as i dont have any idea where
to start as i dont know if it's a problem with the M-Audio lower
manual or
the XK3. it's very strange that the expression pedal can cause this
problem,
although i guess this must also use MIDI?

Thanks again to everyone who made suggestions, but unfortunately i'm
still no further forward. So i thought i'd try one more post to see
if this gives anyone a clue and then i'll contact H/S to see what they
think might be causing the problem.
