Subject:XK-3 will a keyboard sit on top?

I've been wondering whether to take advantage of the UK pound's
strong position against the dollar and ship in an XK-3.

This one move will do away with midi cables, preamps and sundry other
clutter.

I see, looking at the pics of the organ that it is fairly deep ( due
to the drawbars being behind the keyboard ) and I would like to be
able to rest a workstation keyboard on top of the organ. To place it
immediately on top would leave the workstation keyboard too far away
to play comfortably as far as I can tell.

I wondered whether I might be able to make a simple wood baton frame,
which would raise the second keyboard up a little ( not as far as a
second tier on a metal stand ) so that it could overhang the Hammond
enough so that I could reach it to play it, but also leave enough
room underneath the workstation keyboard to be able to see the
Hammond controls and operate them easily.

Has any-one else placed another board on top of the organ? Or has
anybody advice they can offer regarding this, perhaps looking at
their XK-3, and visuallizing whether a second board would work placed
on top. How wide is the narrowest part of the wooden top of the
console, measuring back to front of the wood cabinet ( the side parts
of the top, not the centre part )
Thanks, Thomas.
