Subject:Re: Beta vs Delta LF
Darren,
I have a MS Pro-145 and I also have 3 Leslies (122, 145 and a 1202 [a 120
modified to be a 122]).
Basically, the MS Pro-145 is a great sounding almost Leslie. For live
playing in a band with a bass
player it works great (although not as sweet or as dirty as a leslie - but
in a live band situation it is hard
to hear the difference). If it is not loud enough, mike it (use Shure 57s or
the like - don't use the internal
mikes as they are basically useless).
If you are trying to use the MS Pro-145 without a bass player it is at best
OK. If you want it to sound
like the 15's in a Leslie cabinet there is no use to keep wishing - it
won't. Leslies have great bass. If you
need that sound get a Leslie (an old one, not a new one).
These of course are my opinions. Good luck getting the sound / tone you
want.
