Hey Dean,

Your experience isn't that uncommon. My local Guitar Center had a
VK-7 back when they were out, but I haven't seen a single clone there
since it was discontinued (a few years ago now). Another nearby GC
has the XK-3 (plugged into the cheapest amp they could find), but
nothing else in the way of clones. I mail ordered my VK-8M and VK-8
from Sam Ash, and it took them 3 weeks to get a new VK-8 from Roland.
The clones seem to be too specialized for most markets, and the
profit margin (at least according to Sam Ash) is too low on them for
the stores to bother. Bummer.
