I have both an RPE and a Promega 3, which do an unmatchable job on Acoustic piano that is really satisfying, and have other good onboard sounds.
When I bought the Pm3 I was having some anguish over deciding whether to keep it or just stay with the RPE. Phil Huston of Generalmusic and I were emailing back and forth daily. He was extremely helpful in helping me get better acquainted with the Pm3 so I could make fuller use of the technology of this great instrument. Both you and Phil are to be commended in doing a great job. I do consider it unfortunate that you don't have a lot of US dealers- but it is not that much different from trying to find a dealer thatg sells XK-3 Hammonds! One of Beer city a reas largest music dealers will be out of Hammond supply when it's current XK-2 is gone, and won't restock Korg CX-3 or BX-3! The helluvit is when dealers drop lines it won't be Roland or Yamaha that gets dropped! Their gimmicks and ads and habit ensure that!

Other than the screen problem on my RPE, which I have not actually pursued, I have had no problems with the GEM products.

In regard to the Pm3, I had some problem getting to like it until I reprogrammed some things, and adjusted my thinking to "Hey this is the piano I like and this one and that one are there if I need them- I don't have to like them. To me the Pro 2 piano- based on the original Pro2 but improved- is *the* one! However I almost "missed" it because of the tastes of the programmers sho had drowned this in reverb!

I really gained a lot from advice from Phil Huston on how to get the best out of EQ ing to fit my speaker system, use of the filter, etc. Many thanks to him for excellent support. Certainly wouldn't get support like that from Roland or Korg! (kinda on a par with Steve Hayes or John Fisher, tho.)
