I have taken the line outs from my Hammond choppers and run them through my Speakeasy and compared them to my XK3 and Electro. Bottom line: the chops have a little more girth in the lower mids; the XK3 can be made to scream easier if wanted (I do, I Do!). My Xk3 can be made to duplicate the sound of both of chops, both of which sound different from each other. I'm willing to take the loss of lower mid girth in exchange for the loss of lb. girth. I've compared my CX3 this way (a major factor in my deciding to take it back to the store after 2 weeks), my Electro, my old analog CX3, and my V5. While the V5 came the closest to the raw Hammond sound (nice job Dave!), what it lacked in chorus/vibrato and percussion was a major factor in my deciding that the Electro was a better fit, and this was before my XK3, which has even better percussion and C/V. Plus, the XK3 does the "wind down" of the motors which I like!
