If the product a company sells sounds exactly like what the buyers
of that product want it to sound like, what difference does it make
to the buyer how it got there. My earlier comment regarding this was
not appropriate for this forum and its range of readers, and I
apologize to all I offended. My intention was to portray the
ridiculousness of the argument.

My understanding of your explanation of the Voce's method of
producing its sound via modeling is that this method causes any
given note to possibly sound different each time it is played. If
this is the case, then the more notes one presses at a time, the
wider the variety of sounds that combination of keys will produce
each time they are pressed. I understand that if this is what you
have to sell, then you need to make this sound like a benefit. My
understanding is that while pressing middle C on two similarly setup
B3's, will produce two similar but slightly different tones, each B3
will produce the same sounding middle C each time the key is
pressed.

Your comment that it is rumored that H/S uses B4 samples seems
intended to lower peoples opinion of another product, and for all I
(and maybe anyone else) know, you started the rumor.

To use a more appropriate example, years ago I worked for a copier
company. We came out with a pretty inexpensive copier intended for
the small / home office, service shops like auto repair etc.
markets. It's design parameters were to be reliable and inexpensive
with decent copy quality since the copies would be archived and not
sent out as originals. Our dealers sales people would often offer
them to customers who really needed copiers that would produce
copies that looked like originals: if you don't want to spend $3000
for this copier, I can sell you this one for $1200. Our sales people
would then have to try to teach the dealers sales people how to
explain less than optimum copy quality as a benefit. It didn't work
then either.
