Subject:Re: KBR-3D opinions?
I'm contemplating the KBR-3D also. Mainly because I have to get a
new keyboard amp anyway for my regular keyboards (S90, etc...and I'm
going to get a clonewheel soon. This would kill two birds with one
stone......IF.......the sound is reasonably good compared to the
leslie emulation on the clonewheel. Frankly my options are either to
just use emulation, get a KBR-3D or else get the Leslie 2101 or Pro-
3T to add to a normal keyboard amp.
I can't deal with toting a real leslie around...and even the 145 is
probably more work and space than I'm willing to do right now. Maybe
down the road in time. But it sounds like the KBR-3D would sorta
handle everything all in one box ro4 pop/rock gigs.
I'd like to hear more about this sub-out mod you were talking about?
I haven't heard about that. Also, would like to know how the wiring
for the Clone to amp works? Do I send two feeds to the amp, one to
the main part and one to the rotating part? How does it work
exactly? Does the KBR-3D have the midi implementation like the 145
for controlling rotation speed, etc..?
How bad is the mic hiss someone mentioned? Does the 145 or the Pro-
3T suffer from the same hiss?
I wish someone around here carried these in stock to go check out,
but so far I've only been able to find Electros and XK3's and
absolutely zero leslies or Motion Sounds to hear. And I'm in the SF
bay area. You think there'd be more...
thanks
