I would definitely call Bruce at www.ashbysolutions.com
. He programmed one of the midi solutions
midi routers for me and it makes my rig work much better together. If I
remember right they are about $125.
With the router he could program it so that the keyboard only sends
note information and no patch change or midi volume data. This way you will
have much more independent control over your rig.
I was very impressed by the service that I received from Bruce, and it
is worth it buying from him, especially something as specific as getting
your rig programmed.

>I have started using a second manual on my CX-3. I have a dual-tier
stand and use a Kurzweil SP-76 for the bottom. I occasionally want to
use the Kurzweil as a piano. I seem to have two choices:
1. turn down the organ, turn up the piano and play piano only
2. change the 'lower' MIDI channel so the Kurweil doesn't control the
CX-3 and use both keyboards simultaneously
#2 is more attractive to me, but I don't like having to keep the MIDI
parameter up on the display, has anyone come up with a better way to
do this?
One would be to go into and out of a MIDI Patchbay. Extra unit but can do
a lot of things.
Another is to have a controller like the A70 I have that has on off type
buttons on its 4 Midi outs- a rare thing. An A90 might be set up that way
too. Either of these has PIanos and other sounds on a plug in board.
This even can act as an alternating setup with a double click on a button.
