Subject:my cx3 settings

Really a question for David Jacques. I'm curious to know whether
the Speakeasy, or some other preamp was in the equation when you
were developing your CX-3 settings, or was the CX going solo? Is
the difference between non-speakeasy and speakeasy sound as dramatic
as I've been led to believe from comments in this forum? I have
been tempted to buy a lesser tube preamp, like the dual mp, just to
get a feel for the effect before I go plunking $650 down for the
real deal. I would value your comments/suggestions.
