Dear Shockrob,

Your message is valuable, and reminds me of a more ideal situation to which I
should aspire.

But I'm far from any idea situation, and have an ugly confession: I bought
the Electro2 without having heard one. I relied on the Nord and CSWG lists
to come up with a best guesstimate. I have more to confess: I buy a lot of
things "blind." I bought blind both the Speakeasy and V5, for instance.

For all the obvious reasons, one sometimes buys gear armed with insufficient
information because they need something right away for some job or project.
Indeed, right now I am about to buy a couple of things that I need for
immediate use. Neither I have tried in person: a customized pedalboard and a
midi control box. Wish me luck!

If only I had the time and energy and opportunity to really check out gear .
. .[sad violin music insert here]

P. S. Of things I have purchased blind, I have only returned one item in my
entire life: a wah-wah pedal--and that was over ten years ago.

P. P. S. I congratulate myself on having bought the Electro2, Speakeasy,
and V5.
