I am not offended. I agree, it's not my favorite either. I play 90% of the
time with my 1955 B3 settings, not the 1963 (which is much brighter,
explaining the load percussion that many have commented on).



You bring up some very good points. The best way to purchase an instrument
is to try it first-hand, on a gig. I was able to do that when I purchased my
VK7 and CX3. But Hammond/Suzuki is no where to be found in Southern
California. Even Mike Kahrs has no idea when he will have an XK3 in stock.
therefore, there are no demos or loaners. So I would have to ask the good
folks at BT, or Goff, or some other mail-order company to test drive one of
their new units? Not fair, if you ask me.

A few points:
The CX-3 setting used in the example is a custom one by David Jacques (and
not even my
favorite of the 4 he made available). I like them all fine; but after
downloading them I have
been further tweaking them to get them to sound better to my ear and tastes
(he has the
"mics" rather far back from the Leslie), and I'm sure that David is not
offended by that.
