Subject:List Topics (the Subject line)
Hi All,
Can everyone please try to keep the post Subject line of the postings a bit more accurate? I know that it's easier to just hit Reply, but it makes things confusing for the rest of the list.
As an example: During the past couple of weeks, there was a long series of posts with the topic, "I Want The XK3." The problem is, many of the discussions had little to do with wanting (or not wanting) to buy an XK-3. The discussion veered into talks about showing/hiding manufacturers' logos on stage, whether an XK-3 is a "Hammond organ" or a clone, the benefits of using a tube preamp with certain clones, and whether acoustic piano manufacturers sponsor artists.
The Internet-correct way to veer off on these threads is by using the "Was" identifier:
Re: Manufacturers Logos (Was: XK3)
Re: Are H-S products clones? (Was: I Want The XK3)
etc.
That way, people who are interested in one sub-thread don't have to read all of the posts to find their area of interest. This is especially helpful to those of us who read the daily digests. If I open a digest with 20-25 messages that all start with "I Want The XK3," I'm likely to pass on reading any of them if I'm not clone shopping right now.
Regards,
-BW
