There is no explaining that feeling. My family and I have recently come across a serious financial crisis (chalk it up to the changing employment status in the US) and my musician earnings aren't even close to carrying the weight needed to keep the household running. I've got to get a real career/job going here pretty quick, and the thought of not playing music is like....losing an arm or a leg. The longest I've gone without playing was 6 months and that was 3 years ago. I thought I was done, but I couldn't leave it alone. Now unless something really substantial happens in the next few months, I may have to "retire". It's a sickening thought.
