I'm new to this group (I won't bore you with my background) but I've
spent the last few days reading through the message archives and I
didn't see this question posted. That is, how many of you are no longer
gigging but just playing your B3s and clones in your home for fun and
love of the instrument?
Here's why I'm asking... I've not gigged since '92 but I do have a piano
(Baldwin M) in the house that I play for "stress relief" and I'm
jonesing big time for an XK-3. Yet, I have no practical reason for
getting one. I just want one. Really, really bad. I have no intention of
getting back into gigging - even part time. I just want to sit in my
living room, play piano and push/pull on drawbars. (Did I mention that I
really want an XK-3?). I guess I'm just looking to add some tonewheel
mojo to my living room although I have no practical need for it.
Am I nuts? Or is my scenario common among tonewheel aficionados?
