Subject:Chop question
All this talk about the XK3 being 90 or 99.9% there makes me wonder
if I shouldn't go the chop route. My interest right now is the
traditional jazz organ trio/quartet/quintet.
I think a great rig would be one where each manual is a separate
piece, to keep the weight down to what one person can easily lift.
You would set the lower manual on a stand, and you have built a case
or whatever such that you then can lay the upper manual on top, and
it "snaps" in. Now this is where my knowledge is really weak: For
whatever wiring goes between the 2 manuals, you have a bus or some
way to make an easy connection, and you plug that in.
Is this completely impossible? If so, what would be the absolute
minimum weight of the keyboard/tonewheel/drawbar unit, assuming you
were willing to design a case strong enough, but as light as possible?
All comments will be much appreciated.
