Subject:Re: XK-3 - The expression pedal "option"
In HS' defense, their expression pedal is head and shoulders above the FC7, EV7, Peavey's Volume/CV pedal, or any other pedal I've used. It's heavy, its heavy duty, and it's actually more involved than the "expression" pedal for my Numerous Complaints chop, but just as involved as the Expression pedal for my HammondStore chop. It's not an inexpensive piece to manufacture (though surely not as expensive as they sell it!). And it really works the way it should. For many folks, this pedal might be overkill (those that just play organ pads as a "sound" periodically through the night), but for those that play HAMMOND, this is something else.
And unlike the earlier SUV analogy, I liken it more to be more accurately like this: your 2004 Mustang can do 0-70 in 3 seconds or less...that's plenty for most people; but with a simple drop-in Nitrous Tank, you can now do 0-99 in 4 seconds: not everyone needs or even wants to do it, so why make everyone pay for it...those that DO want to go that fast won't think twice about adding the drop-in tank and everyone's happy with their pricing.

Bruce,
To the best of my knowledge, Hammond is the only clone
that even offers a true "expression" pedal. All the
other clones are just volume control (can't say for
sure about the CX-3).
So, you can use any volume pedal with the Xk-3. I was
doing that until my EXP-100F pedal arrived. It makes a
TON of difference because it's a true expression
pedal.
So, I can't blame H/S for making it an option. No
other clone makes it standard. Heck, it's not even an
option for them!
