No, the right set of drawbars are only for left hand split/lower manual tweaking. The 2 CX3s I played were both new in the box; when I got the first one home, opened it, played it, I just thought the keyboard was much too light but I noticed that all of the keys had side wiggle. When I realized there was a V2 with waterfalls, I took that back and asked for a V2 which they had. Got it home, and even though the keyboard was different, it still had that side to side wiggle. Even the sharps and flats wiggled so much I thought I could pull a couple right out of the keyboard. And the action was still much lighter than either of my Hammonds. It's very fast playing though.

As for prejudice, there's no way you CANT be prejudiced. You said it yourself: Familiarity in performance. I know for myself, if I'm buying something to replace an already owned piece of gear, the replacement better do everything I like about the already paid for piece of gear, and more. I'm always operating from a place of prejudice when making a purchase; that's why so much gear goes back to the store. And frankly, it's the wisest stance to take. I know you've spent a lot of time and effort on your CX3, so it'll take a lot to convince you.

attest to that. My CX3 keys do not wiggle from side to side... Maybe you
played some funky CX3's .. That's possible, especially in a music store.

The time that I have spent tweaking the CX3 does not make me prejudiced
towards it. It has to do with familiarity in performance. Using a former
analogy, the CX3 is like your long time girlfriend or wife... Maybe not
the newest thing on the market, but certainly the most dependable...

Like I said earlier, I can see your reason to upgrade. I certainly would
if I was in your situation. Don't be surprised if I decide to do the
same, after trying one out this weekend.

comfortable place. It would have been nice to be able to choose whether

The shrill/thin quality of the CX3 may or may not be a subjective thing,
but I've never played a Hammond that felt remotely like the CX3. The
action is much too light, and the damn keys wiggle side to side, at
least on the 2 units I experimented with. If that's what your Hammonds
play like, you might want to get those into a tech pretty quick.

Would I spend money to upgrade on the basis of the C/V alone? No, no
chance. I guarantee that you will have to spend some time with the
leslie sim to get it where you like it, if that is possible. With the
effort you've been into your CX3, and the time you've spent with it,
you'll be pretty prejudiced to start with. (Geez, we couldn't even
tell!)

For me, it was the basic Hammond tone, the percussion, the C/V, the
keyboard, the black presets and of course the drawbars that were the
improvements for me. But what got me into the Electro was the
improvements over the XK2 in terms of C/V, basic Hammond tone, and
leslie sim. So these aren't just minor things. They've been major
improvements.

If this clone gets outdated in the next 2 years, and is improved on as
much as this is an improvement on the current batch of clones, you can
bet I'll surf that wave too. I've resisted plenty of waves: the CX3
V1.0 and 2.0, the VK8, VK8m.
