Subject:Re:Gear Lust or Knowing When to Move?

I just purchased a CX-3 a month ago. If I had signed onto this list before
my purchase, or done more research, I would have known that Hammond was
coming out with something cool, but the web site that I found on Google was
so damned obnoxious with pop-ups etc. (I have to run a fire-wall because of
my business) that I got disgusted with it and gave up.

Besides that, one of the best keyboard players that I know of told me I
would love the CX-3 and he is right so far.... I think.

That having been said, I will admit that I am struggling with the shrill
part that you have mentioned and am working to tweak it out of the keyboard.
In addition, as amazing as the Leslie Sim is, I hear a lot of crap in it
that I haven't gotten tweaked out. That's OK, I'm sure I'll get there as I
spend some more time.

As for the action, although I admit that I don't have a big console to
compare it to, it's certainly not significantly lighter than the M-102 that
I own, and it still has a solid feel and the keys do not wobble or
mis-behave to a noticeable degree.

In summary, I wish I had a chance to see the XK3 before I shelled out the
bucks, but I will be happy with the CX-3 once I get it dialed in.

It's a comfort to know that they keyboard will do more than I can manage
right now, anyway. By the time I get my chops back to where they were when
I quit playing, I'll be ready to look at the XK4 or whatever.... In the
meantime I am looking for a leslie.

Right?
