My EXP-100F arrived today. It makes all the
difference. It is a TRUE "expression" pedal...not a
volume pedal. For the last few days I was using a
Roland volume pedal and I thought it was working quite
well. I ordered the EXP-100F on a lark to try it.
Wow. As opposed to just volume control...this thing
works like a Hammond expression pedal (go figure). It
cuts certain frequencies at different amounts as
opposed to just dropping overall volume. I knew I was
using something different when I stabbed a chord and
dropped the pedal back - the notes dropped away but
the reverb decay DIDN'T! It stayed UP! In other words,
the reverb isn't controlled with the expression pedal.
This thing just gets better and better. I honestly
think the keyboard plays even better with the right
pedal.
It's worth the extra $150.
