Subject:RE: XK3 at work
I agree with David, but even David will concede that just cuz it's an old Hammond, doesn't mean it's a good one. Like an old Strat, they all feel different and they all sound different. And since "Hammond" is now "Hammond-Suzuki", we need to get over this whole "it aint a Hammond" thing; new Harleys aint Harleys either then by that rationale. Times change. Just be happy that you have a clone you're happy with...I can remember when the old CX3 was the only game in town, then the VK1000. Hell, the Vox & Farfisa used to be the only games in town!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's not a "real Hammond"... it's made
by Hammond/Suzuki. That being said they did a pretty damn good job...
Owning multiple "Real Hammonds" and playing B3's for 30+ years, I can
tell you that even the New B3 is a clone, and does not sound as good as
the real thing. And there is also the issue of the New B3 keyboard,
which due to its spongy action and different pivot point, feels vastly
different than a "real Hammond"....
When given the choice by rental firms of a Real B3 or a New B3, I take
the classic B3 every time.

if the XK3 has the same sound as the new B3, doesnt
that make it a real Hammond?
