Subject:RE: Running on about the XK-3

OK,,, I will stop you..

I think it's a great thing when people are excited about their rigs. I felt
the same way when I first purchased my CX3, then adding my Speakeasy, etc..

I have been playing and performing with B3's for 35 years (damn I am old),
and the newer clones (XK3, CX3, Electro, and B4) have reached a point where
it is improbable that even an experienced Hammond player like me can tell
the difference in a band setting (especially with miked Leslies). Are they
perfect? No way! Even the new XK3 is not. For that matter, the new B3 isn't
either. Are they close enough? Maybe..

I watched the video and heard my rig last night in a low volume setting
(Kulak's) and it sounded incredible! We played everything from slow blues
(Eat Away My Blues 008000000) to Time is Tight (888800000 w/ 2nd perc). I am
amazed at the sound. Would playing an XK3 be a more satisfying experience?
Maybe so.. Is it worth the money to upgrade? Only you can make that
decision.
