Subject: [CWSG] CX-3 surprise!

I picked up my CX-3 yesterday (which has been pretty much
permanently stationed in the same place in my house since it was
purchased) and heard something sliding around inside. Uh oh! A
broken part? The organ seemed to work just fine, however.

I emailed Bruce Wahler, who I know has spent a fair amount of time
looking under the hood of the CX-3/BX-3, and asked how you get
inside. He told me, and mentioned that on the Version 1 units,
there have been reports that counterweights break off the black
keys. To fix that, you basically have to disassemble the whole
organ. Well, I have a Version 2, but wondered if that problem was
present on the early version 2s, as well.

So, tonight, I carefully removed the top of the organ, hesitated for
a second as I contemplated a long and expensive trip to the service
center, and finally took a peak inside. Pretty soon I was ROTFLMAO.

A thoughtful Korg assembler had left me a shiny U.S. penny inside
the CX-3 (which is all the more surprising since the organ is
assembled in Japan, right?)

Just when you think you've seen it all...

Alan
