And I apologies for instigating Mark's comments. The discussion did
indeed begin with the difficulties of finding decent paying gigs.
I live in an area that is ripe with live music venues, and am lucky to
live in a county that is HOT with live blues clubs. However, I also know
how difficult it is around the country, especially now.
Regarding looking for solutions, you can start in November.

I want to apologize to the list for starting that 50 dollar gig
discussion. And yes , I did reply briefly to the question posed by David
Jacques asking
if I was better off than I was 4 years ago by stating my non - support
of the
present political administration an why. I will be more careful about
what I
choose to reply to in the future.
The reason I wrote about this at all is that I have been seeing the
effects
of a tough economy in Oregon. We have been one of the hardest hit states
economically and club gig and casual scene has been affected. If you
will remember
I was also asking to hear from other list members in my area , and I
did. I
was just trying to make some more contacts and look for some solutions .

to those who replied to me privately. I wanted to make myself more
aware
of the list members in my area and I intend to support their musical
efforts
whenever possible.
