Subject:Re: New Portable B3

I'm beginning to think I should change my stage garb to a long sleeved white shirt with red vertical stripes, arm garters, black railman's pants, and white flat brim hat! But then, I'm 41, which I guess would mean I have no brain!

Now which came first, the chicken or the egg?

So the other day, I played the new Hammond Suzuki Portable B through the Leslie 21 System. While I gave some in-depth observations on the Leslie, I neglected to mention how cool the Portable B is. And man, it IS nice! The tone was incredible, the best of any clone I've ever played (and since it is digital, it is a clone). The chorus/vibrato unit is excellent, almost imperceptible from the originals. The percussion is pretty good (although I prefer mine just a tad meatier, but this sounded great). The only downside aside from the price that I could see was that the keyboard was a little light compared to my Hammonds. It has a much lighter touch than the XK2, but is easy to get used to. I could see being able to fly on it if that was your bag. And it looks sharp. If the XK3 is anywhere near this good, it should be great.
