Sounds like a fun evening for you! What is the asking price?

You want to test the fast and slow motors on the 145 by plugging each one
individually into an extension cord (assuming you have no preamp to drive
the Leslie). Look at the overall condition and you should be able to tell
if it is a road Leslie or a living room Leslie. Most parts are easily
replaced, but if it needs a bunch, you could be looking at hundreds of
dollars really quick. Check the tube condition and see if the amp has been
recapped or if this might be needed.

As for portability, you can move it yourself, but it ain't light! You would
need wheels and maybe handles. Weight is about 130 lbs vs. 160 for a
regular size 147 (I may not have the lbs just right, but in the ballpark).

The basic sound of a stock Leslie will not cut through in a loud band
situation. It would need to be miked into the PA. May be loud enough for
you to hear or you may need monitors...depends on how loud the band is.

Speakeasy - you just need to send it back to Speakeasy and have a 147 option
added to it. Easy to do and not too expensive. There is another option you
could consider which would run the 11-pin from your XK2 into the Speakeasy
and then the Speakeasy to the 145. Then you could use the XK2's fast slow
switch to change Leslie speeds. Pretty cool! When you play the demo songs
in the XK2, the Leslie goes on autopilot!

I am going to look at a Leslie 145 in about 2 hrs. Any feedback
would be very welcomed. I play in a blues band now with an XK2 -
Korg G4 - Speakeasy - and Barbetta 41. Two out of four were based on
the excellent feedback I got here. I am pretty happy with that, but
the consensus is there is nothing like the real deal. But how much
better will it sound? Another stupid question - can one fairly in-
shape person handle it (slide it up into a jeep, carry it, etc.). Is
it loud enough for the normal sized clubs and bars? What should I
look for before buying it. I will leave a refundable deposit
tonight, but the guy wants to sell quick, so pickup would be tomorrow
night. Thanks in advance. One more - How would my current classic
Speakeasy with no Leslie jack fit into the picture?
