Subject:Re: Yamaha Motif ES

According to my Psych 101 notes, she is a "borderline personality"....aka "singer"!
lmao

Hey David...to hear you say the Motif ES organs are THAT good makes me want to go check it out and see for myself. Obviously the easiest thing to do would be to route the organ sounds to a different set of outputs (that can be done, right?), and then use an external leslie sim, assuming you have one...or can get one on loan from your music store on an audition basis.

Is anyone on this list using the new Motif ES for Hammond sounds? I just
purchased one for rehearsal purposes and am impressed with the samples,
but the Leslie simulation really sucks. Anyone have any ideas how to get
around that one? This Friday we are playing without our bass player and
I plan on using my Motif ES7 for the bass parts (it has amazing bass
samples). I am still debating if I should bring my CX3 along for the
Hammond and stack the two keyboards, or just split the keyboard and do
the gig on the Motif.

On another subject...

Had a fun time at Martini Blues last night. I sat in with my old band,
Bourgeois Blues for a short set. They have this crazy chick singer who
stresses out before every show and sometimes just decides that she is
not "ready" to sing. So the 75 minute set list began with Green Onions
so she may make her entrance after that tune. In the middle of the song
she comes up behind me and whispers in my ear that she wants me to play
Summertime as an instrumental. I gladly agreed,,,

15 minutes later she mounts the stage and proceeded to complain about
the tempo, the microphone, the monitors, the sound of the room, the
waitresses, the bathrooms, and who knows what else... We just smiled,
played our solos and enjoyed ourselves. It's strange how some people
just can't have fund doing this. It certainly isn't worth the $50.
