Subject:Re: See and hear a Nord Electro -- Technique question

What issue is that from? The link proves unproductive for me. I do a technique like that (also learned it from "Soul Sacrifice") but I dont twist my hand around, so I'm curious what that will add other than a visual effect.

Thanks....

Hey Lon,

What it's called, I have no idea! But I've been doing variations of
it ever since I heard Gregg Rollie do something like it with Santana
over 30 years ago (in the Soul Sacrifice solo for instance). It's
actually not too difficult; you just stab at the same chord (or as
close as possible) with both hands.

Dave Amels describes a similar technique in his "25 Hammond Lick You
Must Know" Keybaord mag article
(http://archive.keyboardonline.com/midi/hammond.shtml) like this:

"Example 11 fits in music now as well as it did in 1968. You will
find it necessary to twist your left hand around backwards to play
this example, so that both thumbs are on your left. Seriously!"

That is actually what I do. BTW, audiences seem to love seeing the
technique - I get lots of comments about it, so I'll usually try to
sneak it into at least one song a night somewhere.
