Enjoying this thread - I used to break a LOT of Rhodes tines back in
the day....got pretty good at replacing & tuning them between songs!
Recently played a benefit, where there was a "backline" of drums,
amps, and a Hammond XK3 already provided. The band I was in at the
time had me playing organ, and another (damn good, way better than
me) player on piano - he set up his keys for our set, I used the XK3.
He went apeshit during our set, bleeding all over, huge sweeps,
really physical, etc., while I carefully played someone else's rig
(feeling the same about playing other's equipment as already
mentioned). What did I hear afterwards? "Wow, did you see that piano
player? He was GREAT!" Well, he was, but his style of play sure got
some attention too! :-) It's all good!
