Hey Walter, let up man. Geez. Not everyone can be
perfect like you. I used to play an XM-1 with a Roland
D-10. On more than one occasion a key popped out
during a smear. Those keys aren't made to take
side-to-side movement. Weighted keys, which I also
tried for a while (tried to save some cash) will
definitely cut into your hand if you catch the wrong
angle. I guess I'll just have to join the my
technique sucks crowd, but you don't have to be so
harsh!

You're right, I didn't mean to be so hard on gregg, but..

I think if the keys aren't made to take side-to-side movement, then
play them without putting too much side-to-side pressure on them..?

Otherwise, just a vintage keyboard player rant, remembering way back
to sometimes being on the road with small subsistence-level bands: 1
M3, 1 Rhodes Bass, 1 Wurlitzer with its small supply of replacement
tines, soldering iron and file to tune them by ear - since the
original Wurly's almost could not be played without breaking a tine.
No repair shops or parts except in the biggest cities. Breaking keys
was beyond anyone's imagining, so I "grew up" with an instinct for
what a keyboard could take.. while still playing my *** off and
having a great time on stage #:^)
