Well what does that tell you??? If Sam Ash isn't willing to stock it, they must not believe there is a high demand item. It speaks to the proposition that "thousands" of Hammond clones are sold which was discussed here a few weeks ago. That just simply isn't the case. Sam Ash, like Guitar Center and several other larger MI dealers make their buying decisions on what will sell. I would suggest that some of you call your own local music stores, or better yet, just email the larger ones out there. It will be a help to all of us to know where we can get one and where we cannot. The ones who do stock it are the brave ones - for they will be competing with Ebay.

The dealers should take note of what is going on out there. Ebay rules!

PS At $1550, George hasn't covered dealer cost, I bet.

The dealers are thinking there's enough interest that they'll get the price
they want. And y'know, I bet they're right. George has the right idea,
starting at $9.99 and no reserve -- generates a lot of interest and bids. That's the
same strategy I've used in the past, and I've never been disappointed with
the outcome. There's another with a starting bid of $1,900 which the last time I
looked hadn't received one bid. But that one will probably see some action
too. It's funny, I went into the Sam Ash in White Plains, NY yesterday and
asked about the XK3. I was told they have no plans to get one onto the floor, and
no plans to stock them. "We can order one for you, if you want. There's not
enough volume there for us to bring one in without a buyer". Yeah, great, I can
order one myself thank you very much. Meanwhile things are hoppin' on ebay.
