Chalie,

Much agreeance!! Anyone shopping for something as crucial as a musical
instrument, especially if you're a dedicated musician whose very life revolves
(!) around what you experience in your music... should be happy and satisfied
with your prospective purchase for your own personal reasons. In other words,
screw anyone else's .02! No, I don't mean that as mean as it seems; friends
always have their relevance, of course. But, in a similar vein... don't do what I
did back in 1999: I was test-driving clones, knowing I was primarily aiming
at the Hammond XK-2. Sam Ash had a Roland VK-7 positioned right above an XK-2.
I gave the HamSuz a lot of time, then tried the Roland. The Rol was far and
away, TO ME, the better choice. Warm, fat sound... great at 888000000/3d
harmonic, gospel settings too. BUT, I "went with" the HamSuz simply, imbecilically
(sp?) enough, because of, blush, blush, the Hammond name! GOD, was I stupid...
I paid for this idiocy for the next 3 years, with awful C/V (when internal
Leslie is on), an overall less pleasant feel to the thing (even with its' organ
keys as opposed to hard-to-smear synth keys), and the horrible "Why didn't I"
syndrome. Then, in November 2002, I got my Version 2 (it had just come out the
month before, I believe) Korg CX-3... the best, most pleasing and invariably
SATISFYING TO MY SOUL organ I've ever owned, with my old Hammond M-102/Leslie
760 a close 2nd. What, a HAMMOND by-passed by a KORG? Dig! Go with what's
RIGHT FOR YOU and enjoy! Best wishes - Adam
