Ampeg B-115HP bass amp has an attenuator for the tweeter and it's a
real nice thing to have when I use it for keys.

I have heard of Bass amps being good on pianos!

> As far as paper for mids and highs for piano, I don't
buy it. I've used setups in the past with an 18" and 2X 10's biamped,
it was loud but didn't sound HiFi. While horns exaggerate the High
end, sometimes too much, it's good to have it to cut through guitars
and ringing cymbals. I tried the Carvin 1X15" 2X8" 1X Tweeter amp and
I can tell you everything the 8's put out I didn't need to hear. I
usually cut mids, it lets the keyboards sit in the onstage mix
better. TZ
Just when I thought I knew what it was about-!-

One of the first things I ever heard about getting a speaker system that would do acoustic type piano well was that most were doing a poor job on mids, which obviously besided the individuals tastes and prferences would also depend on the input material- and as you point out would be different in a mix.

I do know I what I'm currently getting out of my stuff I like *a lot*! And i guess I got into the thread here because the KP100S was a good addittion.

Not that it is perfect or for every use. I don't know how it handles heavy inputs as in the speaker popping- I haven't had this. I know reviews of the KP's are not all positive. The 100 especially looks to D__small. Crank it up loud with a piano Demo and it still sounds good. Guys have played small lounges even withjust the 100! The angled speakers and placement issue can be a negative and for huge venues they sure are not going to give a crowd what they can give the guys in listening range or the performer.OTOH with the large crowd it is up to the (sometimes deaf) man at the mixer as to what the audience gets. Ever find one of them that dislikes loud bass or that knows the highs will never be audible anywhere behind his back, but the bass will travel a half mile?

Sorry for the rant.

I will definitely read and try to apply whatever info on this subject or others shows up here and am thankful for it.
